Not only was it not marketed well, a lot of the marketing focused on it being  related to Twilight, which hurt its reputation and probably biased a lot of people against it before they even watched the film. Then the script, the weakest part of the film, deterred many who did go to see it. Which is a shame, since the story its based on, the acting and pretty much everything else about the film were great.

So disappointed with The Host film. I really loved the book, how unique it was, how emotional, and none of that translated to film. Sigh. The acting wasn’t bad, it was more the screenplay and direction. Meh.
