Late Friday night/early Saturday morning my dad was on the road with his friend, Damon and our 7 year old jack russell, Lucy. They were out in the rural areas, where every so often you need to open a farm gate to continue on the road.
My dad got out to open one of these gates, and Damon didn’t realise Lucy also jumped out, and drove straight on through the gate when my dad had opened it. Lucy got caught under one of the wheels.
They took her to the local vet (which was an hour away) and his Xray machine was broken, so he just felt her and claimed it was nothing more than severe bruising and gave her pain medication.
That night (Saturday), my dad felt that there had to be something more wrong with her so Damon brought her home yesterday (Sunday) morning. We took her to the local 24 hour animal hospital and found out her kidneys are badly damaged. If they fail, we have to make the hard decision.
She had a comfy night last night, mainly due to pain killers. The bad news is she isn’t passing urine, which is a bad sign for the kidneys. They should be doing a scan shortly to determine if she operable, if they can do anything to repair the kidneys.
Please prayer for her, that a miracle can happen. Also please pray for my family. Especially my father and my brother. I love Lucy, as does my mom, but if we loose Lucy, it’ll kill them. Lucy is their little princess, and I don’t want to see them break their hearts. Please?
